Fred VanVleet was a four-year player at Wichita State where he is the career leader in steals (225) and assists (637). He helped lead the Shockers to three MVC tournament titles, three MVC regular season titles, and nine NCAA Tournament wins in four trips. As a freshman, he was a key reserve on the Shocker’s 2013 Final Four team and moved into the starting point guard role as a sophomore for a team that reeled off 35-straight wins to start the 2013-14 season and ranked as high as No. 2 nationally. He was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and a three-time First Team All-MVC selection. He went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, but signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors. In 2019, VanVleet was an important piece off the bench for the Raptors as they won their first NBA Championship in franchise history. In the 2021-2022 season, Fred VanVleet posted career high numbers in scoring (20.3 PPG), rebounding (4.4 RPG), and assists (6.7 APG) as he was named an All-Star for the first time in his career.
