JUSTIN GAEL-FORCE WON

I thought for sure that yesterday’s puzzle piece in the Original Retro Brand’s “Guess The School Mascot” contest would stump everyone, but as usual I was WRONG.  I mean that piece looked like a high-heeled shoe or a Tyrannosaurus Rex! Well it did stump the first 5 who gave it a try, but not Justin Warshowsky from New York City, who was the first to guess “Gael Force One” from St. Mary’s, and he is the winner of a FREE Original Retro Brand T-Shirt. Justin mentioned he has been playing, and guessing several mascots correctly in prior contests, and is quite pleased to finally win!  Justin is a UMASS & Notre Dame fan, but says “I will go with one that I think is just a plain old cool tee…“Big Red” the Razorback from Arkansas.” – Congrats Justin!

For the record, 2-time contest winner Nathan Forbes guessed correctly again, but came in an hour later than Justin.  We also got a few guesses for “Bucky Badger” from Wisconsin, UNLV’s “Reb,” “Baldwin Eagle” from Boston College, and “Mr. Tuffy Wuf,” from North Carolina State.  Now it’s time for today’s puzzle piece…..

NO BULLDOG

Nathan Forbes of Ontario Canada, was the first to “Guess The School Mascot” correctly yesterday when he picked “Otto The Orange” from Syracuse.  5 other folks guessed before him, but they all guessed wrong!  We got “Hink” the Butler Bulldog, and Butlers “Blue II the Bulldog” (they both Butler mascots?) and even a “Handsome Dan” Yale Bulldog.  Nathan has a nack at this game, as he has now won 2 of the 7 contests to date (he was first to guess correctly a few weeks ago when he guessed “Big Jay” from Kansas before anybody else.)!  Let’s see if we can stump him with today’s new puzzle piece….

It looks as if the Original Retro Brand has stymied the customers on the latest puzzle piece in the “Guess The School Mascot” Challenge.  This time around, we’ve received the most diverse group of answers to date;  Willie the Wildcat from Kansas State, Bucky Badger from Wisconsin, Deamon Deacon from Wake Forest, UGA VII from Georgia, and Mr. & Ms. Wuf from North Carolina State to name a few.  The idea is for us to give away another FREE Original Retro Brand shirt, and it pains us to not be able to oblige today.  Therefore, we won’t keep you waiting any longer and present you with the second piece of the puzzle below right now!

BIG RED, TUSK, SUE E., BOSS HOG, ETC..

We may have thrown some of you for a loop in yesterday’s “Guess the School Mascot” contest by using a puzzle piece for a team that was/is not a part of either the Men’s or Women’s College Basketball Championship Tournament.  Then again, many of you guessed correctly that it was “Big Red” of the Arkansas Razorbacks.  I must also state that we would have accepted “Tusk” (the live Russian Boar), “Sue E.” (the female hog), “Pork Chop” (the kid mascot), or even “Boss Hog” (9′ inflatable) so ya’ll had many ways to win this one!  Alas, Matthew Myers of Pittsburgh, Pa., was quickest to guess correctly and is the winner of the FREE Original Retro Brand shirt for today!  It’s no surprise that the Pittsburgh native has chosen this Pitt Panther shirt for his prize – Congrats Matt!  Of the 5 contests to date, only once has the Original Retro Brand braintrust been able to stump the customers for at least one day – You guys are GOOD! JONATHAN'S LEFT EAR

Let’s hear it for the ladies!  It’s long overdue that we discuss the Women’s College Basketball Championship Tournament for a change, right?  That is where the latest puzzle piece in the “Guess the School Mascot” challenge comes into play.  Having won a ridiculous 70+ straight games including a 95-39 thrashing of Southern in round one of the Women’s tournament, the Women’s UCONN squad is as sure to to win this championship, as the sun will rise tomorrow.  I’m sure Pat Summitt and her Lady Vols will disagree with that theory, but it seems a foregone conclusion that no-one, no-how, will take down the UCONN Women’s machine.  Oh yeah, the puzzle…  Jonathan the Husky from UCONN, was correctly picked first by Angie Sit of Eugene, Oregon, thus she is the winner of a FREE Original Retro Brand t-shirt.  Angie works for the University of Oregon, but is a Florida Gator alum.  She’s got plenty of Duck gear, so she’s chosen this Florida shirt as her bounty.  Congrats to Angie!  Now it’s time for today’s puzzle piece…..

OSKI, WOW-WOW

As promised, the second “Guess The School Mascot” contest was tougher than the first.  Only one person guessed wrong on “BIG JAY” from Kansas on day 1, but 11 people guessed wrong on “OSKI THE BEAR” from CAL yesterday (I must admit I didn’t realize the Xavier mascot was a BLUE BLOB!).

Yesterday’s winner was the third person to guess CAL, but the FIRST to name the school and GUESS THE NAME OF THE MASCOT (see the rules in second paragraph from yesterday’s post).  Quite a few folks guessed CAL, but forgot to mention the mascot name,“OSKI THE BEAR.” Don’t forget that we need mascot name and school when you guess today!!  The winner of contest #2 is Rob Grey from Smyrna, Georgia and he is a Tennessee Vols nut and has chosen this “Davy Crockett” beauty as his prize.  Now onto today’s puzzle piece…….
