WILL BLACKHAWKS “BUFF” THE CUP, OR WILL THE FLYERS PHILLY UP THAT CUP TO THE TOP? WHO WON THE FREE ORIGINAL RETRO BRAND NHL T-SHIRT IN THE “ICE & EASY” HOCKEY TRIVIA CONTEST?

I can’t answer the first two questions, and I really can’t wait to watch the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals! Surely Dustin “Buff” Byfuglien and Mike Richards will have a say in the outcome as they lead their respective teams into battle.  The Original Retro Brand is ready for battle and has plenty of new Blackhawks and Flyers gear in time for game #1 this Saturday.

NEW...

...ME TOO

I CAN answer the third question;  Sam Turcotte was lucky enough to have his name drawn as the winner of the FREE Original Retro Brand NHL T-Shirt for this past Friday’s “Ice & Easy” Hockey trivia contest.   He correctly guessed the answer to this 2-part question: The Philadelphia Flyers were the first team to wear the infamous Cooperalls (long pants!) back in 1981.  What was the second team to follow suit, and what year did the NHL BAN the ill-fated pajamas?

THIS IS NOT GOOD...

The Hartford Whalers were the second team, and the Cooperalls were banned in 1982-83 for being too “slippery” AND TOO UGLY!

Please check back again this Friday for the next installment of the “ICE & EASY” Hockey Trivia Contest, and you may be the next winner!

CANADIENS HAVE ANSWER FOR FLYERS; WILL YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS TO WIN A FREE NHL T-SHIRT IN TODAY’S “ICE & EASY” HOCKEY TRIVIA CONTEST?

NICE WIN IN THE HOOD

There’s no place like home, and there’s nothing like having your hot goalie back.  Montreal goalie Jaroslav Halek, who seemed to have lost the hot hand that stymied the Penguins in the NHL Conference semi’s had 25 saves last night, and finally had some offensive support in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.  The Habs had been shut out the first two games in Philly by Flyer keeper Michael Leighton, but stormed out in a must win with 5 goals from 5 seperate players.   It was an old fashion butt kicking, and the Flyers simply started too slowly and didn’t have any answers for the Canadien onslaught.

I want some answers.  From you.  Yes, it’s time once again for the Original Retro Brand “ICE & EASY” Hockey Trivia contest.

REALLY?

Here is today’s 2-part question: The Philadelphia Flyers were the first team to wear the infamous Cooperalls (long pants!) back in 1981.  What was the second team to follow suit, and what year did the NHL BAN the ill-fated pajamas?

The first 10 people to guess the answers correctly in the post/view comment section at the bottom of this post, will be entered into a drawing in which the winner will WIN A FREE ORIGINAL RETRO BRAND NHL T-SHIRT of their choice.*  The winner will be revealed this coming Tuesday afternoon (5/25/10) on the blog.  Then we’ll do our 7th installment next Friday and through the Stanley Cup Finals.

HEY PHILLY FANS!  Due to your requests, we have added a Flyers Orange Men’s shirt to our website.
