Retro Andy

Andy Hyman - Professed sports nut grew up in Huntington, Long Island (New York),   Rebelled against the local teams and ended up idolizing Bubba Smith (Baltimore Colts) and Willie Mays (SF Giants).   However, couldn't resist the New York Knicks (Frazier, Monroe, Reed, etc.) and the 4 time Stanley cup winning New York Islanders.  Stayed off the streets by playing Strat-O-Matic Baseball and football every waking hour of every day, homework and anything else be damned.   Was saved from becoming a total nerd when discovered the sport of Lacrosse.  Dad went to Hobart (14 straight division III Championships) and put an old wooden stick in hand, and got hooked.

After High School, decided to go to small state school (SUNY Geneseo) based solely on the 6-1 ratio of women to men, and the good Lacrosse team (and they accepted him!)   After graduating in 1982, started working for marketing companies doing promotions like Spring Break in Florida, Newport Ski Spree in California and the Nestle Quick Battle of the Bands tour (dressed up in Nestle Quick Bunny costume and had tail pulled endlessly at concerts.  This led to mascot stints as Mayor McCheese, Captain Morgan, Pizza Noid, and Mt. Dew Man). Current Andy

Decided to move to Atlanta in 1991 to partner with friends in the restaurant/bar business.  Sold business after six years, and decided to get into the sports apparel business and actually fulfill a lifetime dream.   Founded Vintage sports store Distant Replays andwww.Distantreplays.comin 1998, and helped build to an INC 500 company in 2003.    In 2009, founded, and is currently working as a consultant for ATP Consulting, LLC.
